A new meta search engine has hit the blocks that is already causing
quite a stir in the search engine world. KartOO was initially
launched on the 25 April 2002. The technology is based on
developments over a three year period by Laurent Baleydier.

KartOO has a flash interface (excuse the pun) that makes searching
a lot more graphical. Search results are displayed in a graphics
map where each web site is given a "ball". The size of the
"ball"'s are proportional to the relation between the search terms
and the website in question. For example, a large ball will mean
that it is the most relevant site for the search query you have
entered. Results are also mapped by topic, which can be easily
excluded with a click of a button.

This new meta search engine uses some great innovations which you
can see are directly aimed at the user. Some meta search engines
have tried to place too many options on their engines, without
thinking of the users that actually will be making use of these
options. KartOO's easy to read and straight to the point help
system will easily guide any user to quick results.

KartOO also makes use of natural language searches. Being able to
automatically detect a natural language query, KartOO will
interrogate the most effective engines using natural language to
map the search results. Search results can also be filtered for
safety against adult or objectionable sites by using a password
protection mechanism. Meaning that KartOO is easy and safe enough
to use for all those kids out there.

Future implementations will include a downloadable version for use
at home. Webmasters you don't miss out either, with a current
version available for download to use on your own website.
