AdDesigner is a FREE online service that allows you to create your own professional looking banners with ease. The way the AdDesigner works is very simple, and even the most inexperienced person can create original banners to their liking.

Before we move onto the AdDesigner service, let's look at banners. Banners are a great way to advertise with little to no work. Whether you own your own website, use a free website service, or don't even have a website of any kind, you are able to break into the banner advertising market. The largest problem with banners is that, since many people are unaware of how to make them, they normally just use the banners offered by the program they are choosing to promote. This can easily mean that there are loads of people all promoting the same program with the same banner. Can you see the problem with this?

With the AdDesigner service this all changes. You can have your own original banners with wording, colors, style, fonts and much more, all of your choice. The options are virtually endless. Creating a banner will usually take less than 10 minutes, however, if you are new to the service, take your time to learn how everything works.

STEP 1:
Go to http://www.addesigner.com/join.shtml to join the AdDesigner service. It is completely free. Fill in all the fields as appropriate.

  1. Site address: enter the URL of your business website or affiliate program.
  2. How long you have operated the site: select "not applicable" and choose that you want business banners.
  3. How did you found out about the AdDesigner service: Type "MarketingPitbull.com Referred".
  4. Go back and check that everything is OK. When you are happy, click "Register Now". You will need to go and check your email to get your username and password.

STEP 2:
Go back to the AdDesigner service by going to http://www.addesigner.com.
Click on the link that says "Design Your Ad", found at the page. Complete the fields on the left which ask for your email address and password and login to the AdDesigner service.

Once logged in, you need to choose a style of Ad. Scroll down the page past the banners to go to the selection panel. You can choose banner templates by both style of design. You can easily click on the menus to see what they offer. When you see one you like, check the small circle to the left of that banner. Scroll down a little more and click the "Make Selection" button.

STEP 3:
Now you need to add some text to the banner. Like any Ad, a good banner will always have text that is eye catching and appealing to the senses. Trying to intrigue the viewers can also be a good strategy. Use the following as a guide to adding text:

  1. The first field is for the headline. This is the initial line on text which will show on the banner. Type in the text of your choice here. If you are new to banners and design, it is recommended to leave all the font features as they are.
  2. The next 2 lines are for the text lines. These are the next 2 lines of text which will show on the banner.
  3. Set the optimization to "normal" and the playback to "faster". This will give a smoother flowing banner. Try adjusting these options and see what happens.
  4. Unless you have a logo, leave the logo setting to "no logo".
  5. If you are going to use this on a standard banner exchange (banners are 468x60) scroll down til you see "other banner exchange".
  6. Choose the "Create This Ad" button.

STEP 4:
Look over your banner, rate it, make changes and then save it.

Take time to have a long look at your banner. Would you change anything? If so, click the "Continue Designing" link, go back and make some changes. If you are happy with it as it is, choose a rating for it in the menu and click the "Save This Ad" button. The next page has a link which you need to click to have the banner emailed to you.

That's all there is to it. Good luck with your designing!
