Two weeks ago we discussed ways to Automate your Business Using Email. This week we will build on this concept with a very powerful tool. You may be asking yourself, just what is an autoresponder? In the most simple terms, an autoresponder is a prewritten series of messages that can be sent to a single person or a specified list at pre-set intervals. For example, let's say you followed our advice in our Automating your Email article and set up a specific email address for people to email when they had questions (help@anydomain.com for example) . You have already composed an email that lists all the answers to frequently asked questions from your customers. With an autoresponder, you can plug in your FAQ answer email and connect the autoresponder to the email address help@anydomain.com. Now any emails sent to help@anydomain.com will get a response email with your FAQ document. This process is automatic and requires no intervention from you. Imagine setting up a 5-part how-to series of emails that you'd like to send to people who subscribe to your mailing list. With an autoresponder, you would create the 5 emails and plug them into the autoresponder one time, then you would connect the autoresponder to your subscribe page on your website. Any time someone subscribes to your newsletter, they will get your first message immediately, then receive the next message a day or so later, then the next message a few days later and so on. What a huge timesaver!!! You may be thinking that autoresponders sound complicated to set up. Great news, they aren't! If you can create an email, you can set up an autoresponder. Autoresponders can include variables so they can be personalized to each customer automatically. Imagine sending an email to your entire list of 10,000 subscribers and addressing each one by name. You can do it easily with an autoresponder. Autoresponders are very affordable. For about $20/month you can have a virtual email assistant that works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no intervention required on your part. For a very small price, this virtual assistant can tremendously increase your productivity and improve customer satisfaction. You will appear more responsive and professional and can reach your customers automatically, even while you are sleeping or on vacation! Wishing you success!
