Read More on Affiliate MarketingMany people ask me what they should look for in an Internet-based business. I often hear; “I don't have a product of my own, so how can I make money on the internet?” My answer is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a fast, simple way to begin generating income on the internet without bothering to create your own product to sell. You just find a product that the market needs and begin marketing it for the creator. When you make a sale, the creator of the product pays you a commission. Many services are available to facilitate the networking of product creator and affiliate marketers; ClickBank, Commission Junction, and others all do a very good job of bringing these parties together.

I have done this type of affiliate marketing in the past and made some decent money at it. But about a year ago I met someone who showed me a level of affiliate marketing that I never knew existed. Top-Tier Affiliate programs are like taking regular affiliate programs and injecting them with steroids. Where I was making $10, $20, maybe even up to $70 or $80 in a regular affiliate marketing program; in a Top-Tier Affiliate program I make $997 in commissions with each sale.

Ok, I didn't need to be a math genius to realize that earning $997 per sale is better than making $9.97 per sale.

Not only can you make more money per sale, but you are investing the same amount of time and capital each week on marketing. And now, with YouTube, MySpace, Blogs, and other Social Networking sites - you can actually market your business for very little or no money at all.

But first, let's take a look at criteria a successful Top-Tier Affiliate Program has.

1)Product or Service targeting a huge, expanding market. Make sure that what the company sells has a strong demand in the marketplace. Even better, find a company that has Bi-lingual products which appeal to an international market. English isn't the only language -there are over 100 million Spanish speakers in the world. Many of these countries are overlooked by affiliate programs. You can do very well marketing to this neglected group. But, if you don't speak the language, make sure the company has bi-lingual support for you and your team members/customers.

2)Get Paid Instantly through PayPal or Google Checkout. This is a new day. Gone are the days of waiting for your commission check to arrive. Make sure the company you choose provides a way for payment to be made directly into your Google Checkout or PayPal account when someone buys your product or service.

3)100 commission on the sale of their product/service. I prefer a program with at least two levels (tiers). The majority of the commission is paid when someone buys your product or service (joins your team) and the balance when that person makes a sale. This is how you build residual income. For example: the company I market currently sells a Bi-lingual digital library for $1147. When someone purchases the library, I get paid $947 and my sponsor gets paid $250. Then, every time that person makes a sale, I get paid $250 - every time they make a sale. Now, you're probably wondering how the company makes any money if they pay out 100% of the program cost. Easy - they make it up in volume, just kidding. The company charges $54 per month per marketer to maintain their active status.

4)Who's in Control? Who controls the list? Every top internet marketer will tell you, the money is in the list. When someone opts into your website for more information, does the lead go to the company and then is forwarded on to you or does the lead go directly into you auto-responder account? You want to lead to go directly into your auto-responder so that you can continue to build a relationship and perhaps market other products or services to the lead at a future time. Your list is your main asset in this business.

5)You need On-Going Training. If you are new to internet marketing, joining a well structured Top-Tier Affiliate program with regular training can really help shorten your learning curve. You want a company which holds weekly training calls and archived webinars with the top-earners in the company. Make sure they train you on the latest internet marketing techniques for driving free and low-cost traffic to your website using YouTube, MySpace, and other Social Networking sites. Talk with your potential sponsors and ask them about the training the company and their team provides.

6)A Sales Team Helps You Raise a PIG. A great feature to turn your internet marketing business into a passive income generator (PIG) is a professional sales team that will call back your prospects for you if you do not want to. You may be completely comfortable calling back your prospects and talking with them about your business. Others may not be and it is a great option to have a professional sales team available to call back prospects for your team members who choose not to make their own calls and when you want to transition your business into a passive income generator.

These tips should give you a really good idea about what to look for when selecting a Top-Tier Affiliate Program. Top-Tier programs can really help you get off to a fantastic start in internet marketing without taking too great a risk in the beginning. Then, after you have honed your internet marketing skills you can use them to market any program. Creating a solid secondary income on the internet is a reality for thousands of people around the world. Take a step into your future and join us.
