Host: welcome to the call, the amazing part of your story is that you start your business when you're still in middle school to tell us how you first got started with your business? Expert Guest: yet, I started the business when I was in middle school and it picked up when I went into high school. It's definitely been an interesting experience throughout, and it's been awhile since everything got started. Back then, the Internet was completely different, when things were just starting out and there weren't as many websites around. The way the Internet felt is quite different than it is today. I was fortunate to have a background with computers by parents were both computer science majors. I was fortunate to have exposure to the Internet and computers very early on. In the mid-90s I started to use the Internet and trying to do things online. When everything was just starting off. Which kinda led to the creation of my business so early. Host: what gave you the idea of going into Web hosting over other types of Internet-based businesses? Expert Guest: yes, that's a very good question. Actually came from my own experience of trying to start a website online. With the Internet back then it was very difficult to start a website if you wanted to start. Let's say a personal website. There are so many of them right now and it seems so easy right now, But back then it was much different. Back then it was mostly just commercial websites, with the Internet just starting to develop is interested in and trying out and starting my own personal website. I found it very difficult to do in fact, most of the companies providing web hosting with a big telecoms like like Bell Atlantic, which is now Verizon and AT&T. To actually start a website, you have to go through them, which was very expensive and very time consuming. This was roughly around the time GeoCities was started. At that time there weren't too many web hosts only the major telecoms Trying to start a website was very frustrating and difficult experience for me. Based on that I decided, if I was having so much trouble with it. I'm sure other people were as well. And that's what I came up with the idea of T35 hosting. Where the service would be free... there were two things to it, it would be free, and it would be instant. You'd be able to sign up and instantly two an area where you can instantly upload a webpage, and anyone in the world could have access to it. The difference with the major telecoms at the time. It would be very expensive and difficult and take a long time to get a website set up. So that's pretty much were the hosting idea got started.
