The best way to reach the masses is to build an opt-in list. That way, you have the opportunity to share your message, your products or services, and your business. Here are seven tips and resources to help build a fantastic opt in list. #1 Write a book and give it away for free. Fred Gleeck has a wealth of information, all free, on how to build your opt in list with publication. You can grab these resources at http://www.fredgleeck.com/ #2 Offer a free seminar, teleconference, or online course in exchange for an email address. #3 Offer a resell product for free. Give away software, books, and other tools, created by someone else, for free. There are directories that provide lists of resell rights products. #4 Get affiliates on your team. Affiliates can quadruple your opt in list overnight. For more information on affiliate marketing visit http://www.associateprograms.com/ where they have an abundance of free information and a regular newsletter #5 Start a referral program. Much like affiliate marketing a referral program gets your customers working on behalf of you in exchange for a discount or some other reward. #6. Blog. Compelling blog posts motivate people to act, to visit your website, and to request more information. In exchange for that information or to comment on a blog post, ask for an email address. Wordpress.com and Blogger.com are both free blogging tools that easily integrate into any business website. #7 Create a viral marketing product like a book or a report, and give it away. Include links in the content that require people to opt in for special bonuses. Building a large opt in list doesn't have to be complicated or tricky. Bath and Body works built the largest specialty retail list by simply exchanging a coupon for free lip gloss in exchange for an email address. The coupon had to be emailed. Not a difficult concept to gather email addresses and the list is valued at 180 million dollars.
