Read More on Online MarketingMarketing … uggh, the bane of network marketing, right? Not so with the internet. You are probably reading this article because you are looking for a fresh new way to grow your network marketing business. Perhaps the ways you have tried previously haven't worked so well, or maybe you just want to broaden your horizons. Marketing your business on the internet simple. It's as easy as talking about yourself … and who doesn't love to talk about themselves?

If you're not blessed with the gift of gab and you freeze up every time you even think about approaching someone about your business, don't panic! You don't have to approach people directly about your business … you can wait for them to come to you. How? By putting interesting and valuable content related to your business in various places around the internet.

So how can you create a "presence" for yourself out there on the internet? We've listed five of the many ways below. Check them out!

ONE: Write Your Own Stuff If you're not so good "in person" but you're a good writer, a great way to get the word out about your business is to write articles. Articles aren't just long ads about your business but should contain helpful tips for people running home-based or small businesses. You can write about time-management tips, marketing on a shoestring budget, how to run an efficient business, or even three silly approaches you use to motivate yourself. At the end of your article you can include a short blurb about yourself and your business. You then submit your article to the thousands of article directories on the internet.

TWO: Beg and Borrow Article Content Another way to get around "writer's block" is to actually "borrow" article content from other people, and you don't have to plagiarize to do it. Instead, if you come across some articles you really like, write about them. For instance, let's say you've read several good time-management articles. Experiment with some of the tips given in the articles and then write about your results. Write about what worked for you and what didn't. Not a big deal. You can even quote parts of the original article (giving full credit, of course) to save yourself from having to compose so much. Consider your article a concise diary of your experiences, which you are passing on in article form to help others. These are considered original article submissions by article directories.

THREE: Feel, Felt, Found This is another variation of borrowing article content from other authors as well as a way to create original article content yourself. The "feel, felt, found" concept is an oldie but goodie in the marketing field, especially in network marketing. Normally this approach is used to handle objections in this way: "I understand how you feel, I felt that way myself when I first heard about this opportunity, and I have found that it's very different than what I first imagined." If you want to write an article using this approach just take something that you've read and apply the "feel, felt, found" formula to it. For instance, if someone advocates using the three-foot-rule to prospect everyone who comes within three feet of you, try it then write about it. How does the author feel about this approach? Once you try it, describe how you felt using the approach. Share with your audience what you discovered, or found, using this approach no matter the results. You might even want to title your article something like, "A Reluctant Networker's Experiment with the Three-Foot-Rule."

FOUR: Blog it, Baby! Blogs, which are sort of like online diaries, have become hugely popular on the Internet. You can blog about anything, from family recipes to daily happenings to your experiences with your network marketing business. Anyone can blog … and that means you can, too. There are many generic blog sites where you can start your own blog for free. You may also want to consider blogging within an online community. There are many online communities for home-based businesses and network marketing. The great thing about blogs is that they are informal. You can write your blog the same way you talk. It's also a great way to share your knowledge and give your readers something valuable, whether it be a good laugh, inspiration, business tips and resources, or fresh insight.

FIVE: Criticize and Make Lists Last but not least, a great way to generate content to post around the web is to be a critic and a list-maker. Let's take the critic's role first. You don't have to be critical to be a critic. Just write review articles about books and articles written by other people on subject matters related to your business. This might include books and articles on prospecting and marketing, running a small business, financial management, or choosing the right home-based business. Read the material and write about the good points and the bad. Decide whether the content is good enough to make it to your "recommended reading" list. Simple enough. As for list-making: people love Top 10 lists (or even Top 3 lists). Lists make it easy for people to access the best of the web without having to do all the digging themselves. For instance, you could put together articles listing the ten best article directories, home-based business communities, small business websites, network marketing ezines, prospecting blogs … the options are literally endless. You could become a list guru … and post tons of articles around the internet to prove it!

These are just a few of the hundreds, no thousands, of ways that you can spread the word about your network marketing business. As you write more articles your exposure will increase and you will eventually be considered an expert in whatever field you write about.
