I broach this subject carefully because my position may be very different to Yours. I get on average about 300 emails per day but I only read about 140, You may wonder why is this. Well I will answer your question with 1 small sentence, If You can not be bothered to get my name right, I can not be bothered to waste my valuable time. I open so many messages to see the first line saying "Hi first name" or "Hi surname" or "Hi any other name Doing this is driving away your customer's even if You have the best product in the world. CHECK your autoresponder, every autoresponder will have setup instructions, READ these instructions carefully and follow them. I am not a rocket scientist and You do not need to be one also, it will take You about 10 minutes to check it properly but this will be the most important 10 minutes of your time. Would You be happy if everyone got your name wrong, I would imagine your reply to that question is a resounding NO. My name is Ken but I get messages saying,Hi Susan, Hi Tom, Hi Jane etc etc etc. If your spouse came home and called you the name of someone else you would not be happy would You. You have to put yourself in your customer's position and consider what they want from You. They want You to help them,to guide them,to advise them, but most of all they want You to know who they are. Just imagine for a second You have become a huge success and You are on the seminar curcuit, You are being paid ten of thousands of dollars to give a speech to a company's employees. You are introduced to the excited crowd and You stride purposely to the podium and say " Hello err whoever you are", do You think this will create a good impression. I very much doubt it. But this is exactly what you are doing with your promotional emails. You MUST show respect to your customer and treat them as if they are a friend or family member because if You dont you can bet your bottom dollar that your competitors will. They will enjoy taking the commisions that You threw away. Now You have finished reading go and check your autoresponder settings, if you dont your next customer may just become my customer. ------------------------------ I will try to give clear and concise information and advice to help you in your business ventures, I will also keep it as low tech as possible for ease of understanding. http://www.KennethBrehaut.com
