Even as times get harder there is always a demand for veterinary supplies. Here are a 4 techniques to improve your sales and if correctly used, keep sales coming year round:

#1 Create Demand with Incentives

More often than not, creating demand with incentives is a great way to boost your sales. If you are working for a company who allows incentives, take advantage of them as much as possible. One great incentive is to offer your customers lucheons to present your products. If you are already have some of your customers participating in this try to get all of them to agree. Another way is offer discounted product with a full price product. If your company allows this, make it a winning sale for both parties. With this technique the customer is happy they are getting something with a discount but more importantly you are moving product.

#2 Vist customers more frequently

All of us can agree being a thorn on anyones backside isn't fun, but keeping in front of your customer will better your chances of keeping product moving. First, get permission from your customer to scedule a visit one more time a month. This in turn will build more confidence and repore with your customer. By presenting yourself as not too pushy creates a lasting and solid business relationship.

#3 Cold Calls, Cold Calls

For some salesman cold calls can be intimadating, but there is always new business out there. Follow your company's proceedure when making cold calls. The best way to insure more sales is numbers. Make it a goal to call upon ten new customers a day. If calling isn't your best skill getting out of your comfort zone brings oppurtunity. Pay your new potential customer a visit. With sales experience I have established great relationships with customers. Some of these customers were excited I had come by to show products they might need. Knowing percentages helps when doing this. If you make ten calls more than likely you will get 1 customer. If you are bound to territories ask your supervisor for expansion.

#4 Negotiation Skills

Last but not least, negotiation is by far the most important skill to achieve. There are many books out there to help with these skills. Finding your niche can be a rewarding part of knowing your potential. When you finally reach the point of making a sale, knowing how to make a win win scenorio is key. If your customer is set on exactly what he/she is going to spend, you must find a way to leverage the most of the sale. Always offer more than orginally thought. A good negotiation is presenting with integrity and then stand back in silence. Setting the tone right away will give your customer choices and in turn a sale. Good luck to all of you and happy sales.
