When you first enter Alexa.com, you'll see the top websites that are currently getting the most attention (could be influenced by the season, like Christmas, or the other external influences, like a political election). Also on the home page it is the currently hottest topics and the most popular webpages right now. Along the top of the page are several tabs. The "Top Sites" tab will take you to a listing of the currently most popular websites globally. Each listing will give you the name of the website, the address, and a brief summary of what the site offers. When you click on the name of the site, you will be directed to stats page for that site. You can see the number of views the site gets per day, and other information like the site's popularity among different countries. When you first click on the "Top Sites" tab, you'll see that the list is currently showing the most popular site globally, but you can also search for the top websites by country or by category. The 17 categories include the areas like Business, Health, News, and Shopping. Each category also has subcategories to really narrow down your search. The category listings are helpful if you are looking for something more specific, like what sites specifically interest your audience or market. The next Tab, "Site Info" has two search bars to learn about almost any website. In the keyword search bar, you can type any subject to find a listing of websites that are related to that particular topic. The other search bar on this page is to look up the statistics for a particular website, just like the information page of statistics you'll see when you click on a site on the "Top Sites" page. The "What's Hot" tab shows the same hottest topics and webpages right now-an extension from the summary on the home page. If you are a website owner, be sure to check out Alexa's "For Site Owners" tab. It has gadgets and features you can use on your website. Alexa also has a toolbar that you can add to your browser to get information about websites when you are on them, like its current ranking in popularity and even a link to what the page used to look like. Other links on the toolbar will show you hot topics, etc., that you can find on Alexa.com's home page.
