Read More on Affiliate MarketingThis shall be useful for Everyone who loves affiliate programs a lot. But also I think about WHO ARE WASTED MONEY (just as me) to AdWords and similar advertising efforts linking directly to the affiliate sales page.

You open your account and see what .. amount of clicks on your ad. It means people has got just they was searching for. But this somehow do not yet reflects to YOUR INCOME in way of your rightful commissions.

But .. DID YOU KNOW .. that many search engines are truncating distributor and/or affiliate links reducing them to the basic link, which is often the company web-site without your affiliate code.

Or even worse... search engines are banning affiliate links, and blacklisting sub-domains of the parent company that contain certain obvious characters that apparently are not part of the base web-site.

Also a very common practice is for visitors to just cut off or remove the affiliate code from the end of your link and just go directly to the parent company and bypass your lawful commissions.

The parent company still gets the same number of sales, but your commissions go untracked.

FORTUNATELY, .. there is a number of ways to cloak affiliate links. The most popular - include displaying affiliate pages in an encrypted frame, and the very simple "mouse-over" technique. While displaying affiliate sales pages in a frame is a good way to cloak the link, it is not reliable because not all affiliate programs can track correctly if the affiliate URL is displayed in a frame.

The mouse-over technique will display a URL of your choice so that the affiliate URL is hidden. This too in not reliable because the right mouse menu can reveal the real URL in an instant. This technique will also reduce your valuable Page-Rank (PR) because the link points directly to the affiliate sales page.

Not cloaking your affiliate links will also reduce your PR and reduce your click-through rates. So because it has become necessary to cloak affiliate links, I have decided that I may as well keep all the PR at the same time.

Another way

THE REDIRECTION PAGE .. is no secret but still many Internet Marketers do not set this up and yet it involves about the same amount of effort as cloaking the link into an encrypted frame.

On the Net a couple of places could be found where you can create a redirect page instantly even for free and you need not upload the page to your own site. This is an excellent way to cloak links within the body of emails but if you use this on your web pages, it will still reduce your PR. It will pass the PR along to the redirection service.

How to create YOUR OWN redirection page!

SIMPLY ENOGH! Create an empty HTML document.

Add the following line of code to the "head" of the document:

of course, .. replace "http://YourAffiliateLink" with your desired affiliate URL.

Then name the page to reflect the affiliate program and upload this page to your site and point that particular affiliate link to this page.

If you have joined several affiliate programs, you might like to create a directory and keep all these redirection pages to this new directory.

I have set this system up at and even the same day I discovered that index page had a Page Rank of 1 while before it had zero. So, I’ve done this with all my outbound affiliate links.

How it works you can test at: http://span-web.com/info-sources.htm (for example)

Open it but do not click instantly yet. Roll your mouse over the links and watch what appears at the left bottom corner of the browser. When you click you will realize that destination page opens pretty well but passing by a blank redirection page.

BUT ELSE … I’d like a little comment one curious web-site as a counter-instance. The owner applied to exchange links with his web-site. No doubt, reciprocal links as well is one of most important aspects for the PR.

Solely bear in mind my experience.

Open now this http://www.thomasantony.com/ and simply roll your mouse over all the hundreds of links and look what appears at left bottom corner of the browser :)) As you see this author don’t know yet too much. Besides he is placed my link just on separate page, so that no way to open this page from the index nor to open index page from links page.

Unbelievable! Look here: http://www.thomasantony.com/links/index4.htm

Question: What Page Rank Will Expect His Web-site?

Second Question: What Page Rank Will Expect Linked Web-sites?

Third Question: Does Any Traffic Will Expect Linked Web-sites?

Silence ……..

Best wishes! Gatis Vitols span-web.com
