1 - Sell into a niche market The products that sell the best on eBay also have the most competition. In knowing how to sell on eBay it is important to realise that small and specific niche areas often yield the greatest results. 2 - Pick your keywords Look at the item that you will be selling and make a list of keywords that you think people might search for in an effort to find it. Incorporate as many of these keywords as possible into your title. 3 - Include an image Take a good photo of your product and include it in your listing. Without a photo your auction could easily be passed over by a person that is actually looking for what you are selling. 4 - Create an excellent description Don't assume that your buyer knows all there is to know about your product, they may never have seen it or anything like it. Don't be afraid of writing what seems obvious to you, include every piece of information. 5 - Write a call to action Your auctions will sell more successfully if individuals are convinced that they need to buy your product immediately. Don't list too many products at once, even if you do have hundreds to be rid of. Instead try to create a sense of urgency by using terms such as 'while stocks last'. 6 - Earn some positive feedback Some buyers simply won't purchase items from a seller with a low feedback rating. Buy some cheap items to sell on, even if you won't make a profit, simply to gain a positive rating. 7 - Communicate quickly If you have asked a question about an eBay auction it is irritating not to receive a response. Keep checking your emails and get back to people quickly, it will show that you appreciate them, increasing the likelihood that they will return. 8 - Establish an eBay store Instead of selling as an individual, you may find it beneficial to establish an eBay store through which you can advertise additional products. Link to your store from your auctions and you'll find many people will have a look at other items that you are selling. 9 - Set yourself a goal What do you want to achieve in learning how to sell on eBay? Is there a certain amount of money that you want to earn every day or week? Write down your goal and use it as a primary focus when things seem difficult. 10 - Advertise your auctions If you have established an eBay store you can advertise it through eBay by linking in your auctions, but you can also advertise away from eBay. Why not incorporate it into the signature of your emails or forum posts? These 10 tested and tried tips will help you to quickly learn how to sell on eBay, helping you to quickly earn some extra cash. ------------------------------ Amanda O'Brien is a successful eBay Powerseller and author of 'The 2,500 Per Week eBay Powersellers Secrets' home study course.
