Things like upcoming online training or web conferencing can be useful to the reader and fill space for you. - In most successful magazines there is usually a section where experts share tips. You could begin a section like that and even solicit questions from your readers. This would create anticipation and great interaction for answers in the next edition. When giving out tips and secrets of the experts be sure to give credit where credit is due. You may even begin to get unsolicited material from these experts who view your newsletter as an avenue for them to do some promoting. - Take some time to review various eBooks and give your comments regarding them. You could even get your readers involved in sharing their thoughts about eBooks. Potential increased sales of the eBooks is the side benefit to this. - You can also have a section to review new or upcoming products to the industry you're promoting. Readers always appreciate a heads-up. - Give some print space to your subscribers or readers. By profile and featuring some of them from time to time you not only show appreciation to them but can utilize their beneficial thoughts. - Everyone loves tips and suggestions- especially "Top 10" kind of tips. They're fun and easy read and they offer beneficial solutions to everyone. - Inject humor to make your newsletter fun. Of course it needs to be kept clean but everyone needs laughter. Also utilize inspirational quotes and various puzzles. These types of additions keep your newsletter fresh each edition. - Give away free stuff! Everyone likes free stuff, even if it's really cheap. You could even give away freebies- or place those who participate in a raffle, to those who submit questions or material to your newsletter. Your newsletter doesn't have to mimic the Wall Street Journal but it does need to continuously have fresh and new content.
